Impressive and large antique claret jug with an ovoid, cut glass body and sterling silver mounts.
The collar is finely hand-chased with relief patterns of flowerheads among scrolling leaves and featuring bands of beading above and below. The elegantly curved handle is bordered by a chased lattice design while the hinged lid is decorated in the same manner as the collar and has an attractive cast entwined leaf finial. The cartouche below the spout is engraved with an entwined monogram WEY in an attractive gothic style. Year 1887 Place London Condition Excellent
